The second-ever Flamingo Fanatics Society Fling was held in September, a celebration of all things flamingo and the bird’s adoring fans. Now, the Flamingo Fanatics Society has something new and exciting up its sleeve to really kick it up a notch: a cruise!

Teaming up with your favorite online flamingo shop, The Popular Flamingo, the Flamingo Fanatics Society will host a once-in-a-lifetime, flamingo-themed cruise in the spring of 2024 that any massive lover of these magical birds will absolutely not want to miss! The nine-day excursion will set sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Friday, March 8, 2024, arriving back in the same location on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

Let’s dive into some more of the awesome details of this unique opportunity!

Flamingo Fanatics Cruise 2024: Flamingo Fun in the Sun!

In 2021, the Flamingo Fanatics Society held its inaugural fling, bringing flamingo fans together in Las Vegas for an enduring experience that a big collection of fabulous fowl lovers enjoyed. In 2022, the follow up to Vegas happened in St. Petersburg, Florida, and was yet another rousing success. The Flamingo Fanatics Society is taking it to another level with its next fling, though, going international to a region that thousands of flamingo flock to every year!

You probably have a lot of questions about this cruise, and even though it’s more than a year away, it’s never too early to start preparing, especially with early-bird deals offering you the best prices well in advance.

What Is the Cruise Line?

The Flamingo Fanatics Society has booked a top-of-the-line experience on one of the most modern cruises around. Those lucky enough to join this excursion will enjoy the newest ship from Holland America Line, the Rotterdam. Launched in 2021 and fitted with state-of-the-art entertainment, dining, and lodging, the Rotterdam is one of the most luxurious ships on the seas and sure to provide an incredible backdrop for this flamingo adventure.

Holland America Line has been in operation since 1873 and a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation since 1989. It has a long history of success of providing first-class cruise experiences to its patrons - only the best for the Flamingo Fanatics Society!

Where Will the Cruise Go?

You’ll get a nice little tour of the Caribbean on this cruise. Other than beginning and ending in Fort Lauderdale, the Flamingo Fanatics Cruise will have stops in Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, and Half Moon Bay in the Bahamas. Talk about getting tropical!

The society will have a hotel in Fort Lauderdale ready for travelers the night before the cruise sets sail, and it’s recommended that anyone who drives in stay there and leave their car at the hotel during the cruise, free of charge. There will be a shuttle from the hotel to the port.

What Sorts of Activities Are Planned?

There are a host of activities planned for this cruise, though the Flamingo Fanatics Society is holding most of them close to its chest (surprises add some spice to life, right?). But what we do know is that you can count on is the society planning something fun and exciting for every sea day. Special events, private excursions for the group, a wacky scavenger hunt, and more are all in the cards. You’ll also get plenty of time to spend with the woman behind it all, Flamingo Fanatics Society Founder Susan Hyre, as well as the visionary behind The Popular Flamingo, JT Jennings.

What we know for sure is that there will be a meet-and-greet session on the first night of the cruise so everyone can be introduced to one another. Travelers can also get to know their fellow trip-goers during optional hotel stay the night before the cruise begins in a relaxed and calm environment. Everyone will receive swags bags full of some of the best flamingo products around, courtesy of The Popular Flamingo! No extras will be taken aboard the ship, so you’ll need to stay at the hotel to get your awesome flamingo goodies.

There will also be time available to explore the various islands and nations where the cruise will stop, and you can turn that time into whatever you want! Want to try some traditional cuisine? Maybe lounge around a pristine Caribbean beach? Perhaps mixing in with the locals is more your style? No matter how you like to spend your time on vacation, the islands will be there for you!

One of the most popular traditions of the Flamingo Fanatics Fling - the famous and fabulous Flamingo Fashion Show! Attendees dress in their favorite flamingo outfits and strut their stuff down the Flamingo Runway for all to see, with prizes for the crowd favorites and ultimate flamingo bragging rights up for grabs. The Flamingo Fanatics Society is working with the cruise line to make this a reality for a third-time running!

What Are the Prices?

Nothing has been officially confirmed, but estimates conclude that packages, which include food, will start at around $1,500 per person based on two people per room and cabin. This comes out to about $167 per night, a cheaper rate than you’ll find for most cruise situations. The final price will be based upon how many flamingo lovers sign up for the cruise. Travel insurance will be required to attend.

The society already has 10 cabins reserved, and it doesn’t plan on getting much more. So, if you’re interested in traveling the Caribbean seas with fellow flamingo fanatics, you’ll have to act quickly to secure your spot!
